As for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.

The Lord’s miracle – to send missionaries all over the world to proclaim his glory and salvation to the nations

I will perform a sign among them. And I will send those who survive to be messengers to the nations - to Tarshish, to the Libyans and Lydians (who are famous as archers), to Tubal and Greece, and to all the lands beyond the sea that have not heard of my fame or seen my glory. There they will declare my glory to the nations. They will bring the remnant of your people back from every nation. They will bring them to my holy mountain in Jerusalem as an offering to the Lord. They will ride on horses, in chariots and wagons, and on mules and camels,” says the Lord. “And I will appoint some of them to be my priests and Levites. I, the Lord, have spoken! “As surely as my new heavens and earth will remain, so will you always be my people, with a name that will never disappear,” says the Lord. “All humanity will come to worship me from week to week and from month to month.

The miracle of God is: He will send missionaries to proclaim his salvation and glory among all the nations and they will bring the people into the holy mountain of God, as an offering, holy and pleasing to him. The Lord will appoint some of the people to be priests and Levites to serve him to lead the whole human race to come and worship before him week after week and month after month.

The Lord’s hand of blessing is upon his servant and everyone will see it

Everyone will see the Lord’s hand of blessing on his servants and his anger against his enemies. When you see these things, your heart will rejoice. You will flourish like the grass! “I can see what they are doing, and I know what they are thinking. So I will gather all nations and peoples together, and they will see my glory.”

Have you seen God’s hand of blessing upon his servants? His grace and mercy is overflowing, like the unending waterfall from the mountain, like the waters cover the sea. His grace is sufficient for me even when I walk through the valley of the shadow of death. The Lord sees what the people of the earth are doing and recompenses them according to their deeds, whether good or evil.

Be who God wants you to be today

(弥迦书6:8) O people, the Lord has told you what is good, and this is what he requires of you: to do what is right, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God. (Micah 6:8)

We all have some sort of long-term goals; they just differ depending on our current stage in life. We may even have short-term goals, say for this year, resolutions made on New Year's Day, but what about goals for today?

Today, I will enjoy the gift God have given me, the gift of life.

Today, I will show love instead of indifference to a stranger.

Today, I will be joyous in every circumstance.

Today, I will bring peace instead of conflict.

Today, I will be patient with my family, my co-workers, and other people.

Today, I will be kind to the unkind.

Today, I will be good to all people, especially to the household of faith.

Today, I will be gentle in my interactions with all types of people.

Today, I will have self-control in my speech and actions.

Today, I pray that the Spirit of God will work in and through me.

Today, I will seize the opportunities presented me and redeem my time.

Today, I will check my motives, and seek to be pure in my heart.

Today, make your life count for God.

Today, I will be faithful, persevere and finish what God has prepared for me to do, especially when it gets hard to achieve these goals!

(加拉太书5:22-23 “But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!” (Galatians 5:22-23, NLT)

634 Give your entire attention to what God is doing right now, and don't get worked up about what may or may not happen tomorrow. God will help you deal with whatever hard things come up when the time comes. (Matt 6:34, The Message)

Those who mourn for God’s church will rejoice

“Rejoice with Jerusalem! Be glad with her, all you who love her and all you who mourn for her. Drink deeply of her glory even as an infant drinks at its mother’s comforting breasts.” This is what the Lord says: “I will give Jerusalem a river of peace and prosperity. The wealth of the nations will flow to her. Her children will be nursed at her breasts, carried in her arms, and held on her lap. I will comfort you there in Jerusalem
as a mother comforts her child.

Those who love and mourn for the Lord’s church, be glad and rejoice! Because God is going to give her a river of peace and prosperity, flowing from the wealth of the nations. He will also comfort them and shower them with his glory.

God instituted a day of rest for his people, this is his gift to us

After this the people gathered the food morning by morning, each family according to its need. And as the sun became hot, the flakes they had not picked up melted and disappeared. On the sixth day, they gathered twice as much as usual - four quarts for each person instead of two. Then all the leaders of the community came and asked Moses for an explanation. He told them, “This is what the Lord commanded: Tomorrow will be a day of complete rest, a holy Sabbath day set apart for the Lord. So bake or boil as much as you want today, and set aside what is left for tomorrow.”

So they put some aside until morning, just as Moses had commanded. And in the morning the leftover food was wholesome and good, without maggots or odor. Moses said, “Eat this food today, for today is a Sabbath day dedicated to the Lord. There will be no food on the ground today. You may gather the food for six days, but the seventh day is the Sabbath. There will be no food on the ground that day.”

Some of the people went out anyway on the seventh day, but they found no food. The Lord asked Moses, “How long will these people refuse to obey my commands and instructions? They must realize that the Sabbath is the Lord’s gift to you. That is why he gives you a two-day supply on the sixth day, so there will be enough for two days. On the Sabbath day you must each stay in your place. Do not go out to pick up food on the seventh day.” So the people did not gather any food on the seventh day.

Our God is a good and gracious God who cares for the welfare and needs of his people. When they were wandering in the wilderness under the desert heat, with little water and no food, he provided “manna” by sending it from the sky like rain. They were to gather just enough to eat, each day for its share. On the sixth day, they were to gather 2 portions, one for the sixth day and the other for the seventh because there would be no food on the seventh day, and they would not need to do any gathering. So, six days they would work, but on the seventh day, they would rest and eat what they have gathered on the sixth day.

I, the Lord, care for those who are humble and contrite in heart, those who fear my word

This is what the Lord says: “Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool. Could you build me a temple as good as that? Could you build me such a resting place? My hands have made (built) both heaven and earth; they and everything in them are mine. I, the Lord, have spoken! I will bless those who have humble and contrite hearts, who tremble at my word. But those who choose their own ways - delighting in their detestable sins - will not have their offerings accepted. When such people sacrifice a bull, it is no more acceptable than a human sacrifice. When they sacrifice a lamb, it’s as though they had sacrificed a dog! When they bring an offering of grain, they might as well offer the blood of a pig. When they burn frankincense, it’s as if they had blessed an idol."

就是从罪恶的行为悔改,传向神,以我们的生命当作活祭,是圣的,是神所喜悦的,是我们对他的敬拜( 罗马书121We can’t build anything that is greater or better than what the Lord has built – heaven and earth. We only need to humbly accept our place and fear his words by following them. What we could do to honor him is to turn from our sinful ways and offer our lives as living sacrifices, holy and acceptable offerings of worship to him. (Romans 12:1)

Our life on earth is transient, but God has given us eternal life

We are trees
Firmly rooted in the earth
In the world

Our branches
Extend toward the heavens
But fall short

Mighty Wind
Uproot us, turn us around
Upside down

Firmly plant
Our roots in heaven, reaching
To this world

May Your love
Flow unconditionally
Through these trees

(posted by Tony Carmody at 3:16 PM on May 3, 2010,
Translated by Jerry Goh at 4.10 pm on April 21 2011)

Tony’s post reminds me that our lives are like trees - transient, but God is eternal. Yet when we have lived out our lives on earth, he will receive us into his eternal dwelling; the eternal God has given us eternal life so that we might be with Him forever. “For you died to this life, and your real life is hidden with Christ in God. And when Christ, who is your life, is revealed to the whole world, you will share in all his glory.” (Colossians 3:3-4) “For we know that when this earthly tent we live in is taken down (that is, when we die and leave this earthly body), we will have a house in heaven, an eternal body made for us by God himself and not by human hands.” (2 Corinthians 5:1) Whoever believes in the Son will not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16)

May this year’s Good Friday and Easter remind us that our Lord Jesus Christ came to give his life so that we might have eternal life, and live eternally with God.

My servants will enjoy the fruit of their labor for a long time

Invaders will not take their houses
and confiscate their vineyards. For my people will live as long as trees, and my chosen ones will have time to enjoy their hard-won gains. They will not work in vain, and their children will not be doomed to misfortune. For they are people blessed by the Lord and their children, too, will be blessed. I will answer them before they even call to me. While they are still talking about their needs, I will go ahead and answer their prayers!

Dear Lord! Bless the fruit of my labor and multiply it so that my family and relatives, my church and the people around me will also enjoy the fruit of my labor for a long time. Listen to our prayers and answer us even before we call. Come and meet our needs. Thank you that you are the true and faithful God who cares for us.

Let us rejoice and treasure God’s new creation

“Look! I am creating new heavens and a new earth, and no one will even think about the old ones anymore. Be glad; rejoice forever in my creation! And look! I will create Jerusalem as a place of happiness. Her people will be a source of joy. I will rejoice over Jerusalem and delight in my people. And the sound of weeping and crying will be heard in it no more.

Our God is the Creator of new things; new heaven and new earth and new dwelling places as places of happiness. And by them, he makes the people glad and they in turn will be a source of gladness for all peoples. If we live a work in a place where there is constant strife, gloom, depression, injustice and wickedness, then maybe we need to consider (look!) whether it is a place where God wants us to be.
