“Are you not much more valuable than they?”

1.   The midwives, Shiprah and Puah who decided to fear God and let Hebrew boys live. “But because the midwives feared God, they refused to obey the king’s orders. They allowed the boys to live, too.” (Exodus 1:17) God repaid them for them faith in him by giving them families of their own. (Verse 21)

2.    Moses’ mum, Jochebed defied Pharaoh’s order and hid him for three months, risking her life to protect the life of the baby boy. (Exodus 2:1-2) God repaid her faith, and returned her child to her, with child-rearing expenses fully paid! (Verse 9)

3.   Moses’ sister, Miriam, linked Pharaoh’s daughter up with his mother. (Exodus 2:4, 7) For this, she received back her brother and could watch him grow to become Israel’s redeemer.

4.   Pharaoh’s daughter felt compassion for Moses. She also defied her father’s order and let the Hebrew boy live. (Exodus 2:6, 9) For her kindheartedness, she became Moses’ adopted mother and had the privilege to give him that name. (Verse 11)

5.   Zipporah, the Midianite priest’s daughter became Moses’ wife and gave him children. (Exodus 2:21-22) She brought comfort to Moses in a foreign land.

As God has time and again taken care of Moses and his life, he will surely take care of us at every stage of our life. God used many women to care, protect ad bless Moses' life. He can use the women in your life to do the same. God wants us to trust him for our future and not to worry about tomorrow because we are much more valuable than the birds of the air and the lilies of the field. (Matthew 6:25-34)
