罗马书 5:6-11 Romans 5:6-11
因我们还软弱的時候，基督就按所定的日期为罪人死。为义人死，是少有的；为仁人死、或者有敢做的。惟有基督在我们还作罪人的時候为我们死， 神的爱就在此向我们显明了。现在我们既靠著他的血称义，就更要藉著他免去 神的忿怒。因为我们作仇敌的時候，且藉著 神儿子的死，得与神和好；既已和好，就更要因他的生得救了。不但如此，我们既藉著我主耶稣基督得与神和好，也就藉著他以神为乐。When we were utterly helpless, Christ came at just the right time and died for us sinners. Now, most people would not be willing to die for an upright person, though someone might perhaps be willing to die for a person who is especially good. But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. And since we have been made right in God’s sight by the blood of Christ, he will certainly save us from God’s condemnation. For since our friendship with God was restored by the death of his Son while we were still his enemies, we will certainly be saved through the life of his Son. So now we can rejoice in our wonderful new relationship with God because our Lord Jesus Christ has made us friends of God.
这世界上有许多英雄的人。他们牺牲他们对一些东西的拥有权。比如他们的亲生孩子，让他们能够存活或得到更好的生活。这种倾向提醒我在旧约里所罗门的故事。还有，有些英雄人物，他们为别人而牺牲自己的生命；就好像道森突德门，他在拯救一位将被水淹没的妇女，自己反而被水淹没了。我认识一位朋友，他带家人到加洲的沙滩度假。他与两个儿子在海边游泳时，突然有大浪迎面而来。他的幼儿将要被水淹没，就高声大喊。我的朋友就立即抢救，但是，在救儿子时，他自己被水淹没了。
我们沉没在我们的罪里，完全软弱无助，也不值得被救， 可是“基督就按所定的日期为我们罪人死。”（六节）有人问，“这世上有这样多罪恶，我们如何知道神的爱呢？”肯定的，神差基督到世上是为我们死，拯救我们罪人。这就显明了他对我们多么大的爱。感谢神。
There are heroic persons in this world who would give up their rights to something, for example their legitimate child, so that the child might live or have a better life. It reminds me of Solomon’s story told in the Old Testament. There are also heroic people who might die for others, such as Dawson Trotman who, in the process of saving a drowning woman, could not save himself. I know of a friend who brought his family to California’s coast for holiday, and while he and his two sons were swimming, they were caught in an immense wave. The younger son was drowning and called out for help. My friend was there to save him, but in the process, he himself got drown.
We were drowning in our sins, we were utterly helpless and did not deserved to be saved, but “Christ came at just the right time to save us sinners.” (Verse 6) Some people might ask, “There is so much evil in this world, how do we know God’s love?” Precisely, God sent Christ into this world to die and save us, sinners. This is a display of God’s great love for us. Thank you, God.
